I downloaded the trial edition of the Slideshow module. I installed a series of several slides on multiple sites. It worked fine until the trial expired. Then, it displayed an expiration message. So, I purchased the license today and installed it. When it came back up, all my images were gone on all my sites (all the slides are still there and the basic settings, it's just that all the images are gone). Any suggestions on how I can recover the images without having to rebuild them?

In Slideshow version 4.2.0, we've changed image path structure. When you update module to 4.2.0 there is a function what corrects image URLs.

I think new version is not installed on your DNN correctly.

To fix the issue:

Install slideshow version 4.2.0 (or higher) using Module Definitions page or Extensions Page again and wait till module be installed successfully.

I upgraded the module to 4.2.0 but still all of my images are gone on all my sites.

Can I do it for you?

You may also Export and import module content using module action menu to fix the issue.
